My friend helped me to pick out flowers to paint. I remember a couple of times when I tried to paint tulips and always ended up feeling disappointed. Flowers are not easy to paint. This time I am pleased with the result.

I was reading an article where Richard Schmid, one of my favorite artists, explains how to paint flowers: "...the key to painting flowers is to apply simple, bold brushwork, using as much as possible only white and colors as pure as they come from the tube..."

I did my best following his advice.
